Concrete.

Helmets-3 by theworsteyes.

A new skatepark opened in town recently and I checked it out with a few dudes who skateboard. That sentence was funny... Anyways, it's got a nice set of stairs but the rest is pretty awkward to say the least. You have to get a running start on most things but it has a nice plaza feel to it. Whatever that means... It was freezing cold but tons of kids showed up. Check out some more pics over at theworsteyes.

PROper.

He did it. My friend and local hometown Manassasan Billy Roper skates for Goldstar and his pro deck is out now in the "Bomber" series. Check him out.

Today.

I know... YouTube? What is a YouTube video doing on here? Well, while YouTube encodes videos at a lower quality, it does allow for HD embedding without forcing it's members to pay for a pro account. And also Vimeo did not have the extended version of this video. Anyways, this is what I did today. Today was a good day...

Ropes.

Ozzy-10 by you.Ozzy-8 by you.

Roper and I came back home to Manassas from LA and Richmond this week and caught up with some old friends at Osbourn Park. He rides for The Hundreds down in LA and has been making more of a presence for himself in the skateboarding community. I was shooting Fridays with Duy Nguyen at the time but managed to get some pictures together. The episode will premiere next Friday but in the meantime check out the photos over at theworsteyes. Also check out Billy's blog here.

Thursdays with Me.

Here's episode 2 of 3 of Days with Me. If you are not in the video, know anyone in the video, or don't skate, don't watch this. This is Thursdays with Duy Nguyen. Starring Blake and Francis with a special appearance by Goose.

Watch it in HD here.

Monday, March 16

Wednesdays with Me.

Here's the first of a current three part series called Days with Duy where I run around with a camera and be annoying. Unfortunately Vimeo only let's me upload one HD video a week so the rest will be coming on the next two Mondays and make sure you watch it in HD here!

10 Deep.

Kids-8 by you.

Yesterday I performed my civic duty in showing the Skate Crew from Manassas around these parts. It was a day full of bombing hills, nollie heels and McDonald's. Watching ten kids speed down a hill downtown at 30 MPH all wearing black with their hoods up glowing in the orange street lights at night is a pretty cool sight.

Kids-27 by you.

Anyways, more pictures up over at theworsteyes.

THPS.

Rooftops-16 by you.

Have you ever wished you could just skate from helicopter blade to helicopter blade to homeless bum to Eiffel Tower like in Tony Hawk Pro Skater or something? I certainly do. This morning, I went to a meeting with an important associate and she showed me around a newly bought area that will eventually be renovated into something big. More on that later... The construction workers showed me up to the rooftop and gave me a great view. I couldn't help myself but to think about skating on the roof. Seriously though, I didn't have my board. Plus I can't skate.

More here.

Success.

So I would consider this past Saturday a success for everyone. I got to see a bunch of old friends and discussed our next project, Film This, so be prepared for that one. Everyone's part was pretty sick and of course Roper's part blew everyone's out of the water. We still have a few copies left of Tennis Use Only if any one is interested but their going to be sold at Tony's shop so you can pick one up there if you missed out on the premiere. But just look at Justin and that fat stack.

I'll have more pictures up from that day up on the photo blog once my situation with the president of Flickr gets figured out. As for now, peace out hommies. Haha.

Tennis Use Only.

This time next week on October 15th, I'm going to be making a trip up north to prepare to cover and support some old friends with their premiere of Tennis Use Only, a project of the skaters, Justin Whitacre and Goose Ordaz. Documenting all that goes on in the Courts, TUS will feature those who are frequent visitors. Located in Northern Virginia, skaters such as Billy Roper and Ben Hatchell have flipped there. That 18th, starting with a local slam, the video will be projected that night, no where else but at the Courts. Here's are some promos for it. Can you spot me?
